Melissa Oneil

MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil, born on July 12 1988, is a Canadian actress/singer. In 2005, O'Neil won the third season of Canadian Idol, the first Canadian female to be a winner of. O'Neil is an actress who is famous for her roles in Syfy's science-fiction series Dark Matter. O'Neil was well-known for her role in The Rookie as Officer Lucy Chen. O'Neil was voted in the bottom two spots and three finals. The judges were stunned by this and urged viewers to vote Melissa for her vocal talent. O'Neil's performance was consistently praised and O'Neil didn't fall back into the bottom 3. Zack Werner, the judge, declared O'Neil "a chance to win the whole thing". O'Neil together with Rex Goudie made it to the finals on September 7 in 2005. Werner, a judge, famously declared that the headlines of the following day's papers would be "The King [Kalan Porter] has passed away. Long live the Queen." In the grand final results ceremony on September 14, 2005, O'Neil defeated Goudie to win the title of the third Canadian Idol, as well as being the first female winner, as well as (at 17) the youngest contestant in history.
