
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is captain and striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) the top level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan rapinoe from 2018 until 2020. [8][9] Morgan was drafted by the Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her degree from Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut there and was instrumental in helping the team win the league title. Morgan was just 22 when she was chosen to be part of the team of the nation in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011, where they finished in second place. At the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the match-winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final against Canada. She finished 2012 with 21 and 28 goals. assists as she joined Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and provide 20 assists during the same year, making her the sixth and the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, Morgan was also selected as a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan has also played a role in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 as well as the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, where she was selected to the Dream Team for both tournaments as well as winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
